Workin’ Stella & Dot Jewelry for Plus Sizes

Denise Spencer and I have been friends for well over 20 years. In fact you might remember her as one of the friends who gave me the fabulous Retirement Party a couple of years ago. SO when I heard she was selling Stella & Dot Jewelry, and you know I love jewelry since I wear it everyday, I thought it would be fun if we got together and I tried on a couple of pieces and shared them with you. (I wish I had also tried the necklace without any extensions, sometimes I really like that choker look with the sort of round collar this top has.

Stella & Dot Sutton Necklace Longer

Stella & Dot Sutton Statement Necklace Longer – To do this you just lift one of the lengths of chain over your head, nothing additional required

This is the Sutton Statement Necklace and it can be worn five different ways, I am wearing it with two extensions here. I love that it is a multi-metal necklace and can be worn shorter or longer or even longer, without or with the rhinestones strand.

I also tried on a wrap bracelet, which I loved since I have been wearing a lot of wrap bracelets lately.

Here are some other pieces I thought you might think were fun, and a little less expensive.

Plus Size 24+ Vintage/Previously Owned Clothing

Plus Size Vintage

                                             Plus Size Vintage

I know you know I love “vintage”. There is not much of it in a Size 24+, and I suspect the term used clothing would be more appropriate than vintage. Please click on the links underneath each photo, above, for more information.

But I love it just the same, and there are some good deals out there if you are willing to shop.

So I thought I would go on a hunt to see what I can find in my size (I can usually wear a UK Size 28, to compare my measurements to yours, click HERE) and here are my results.

And of course my list of the FatToo Groups and other plus size clothing groups on Facebook can be found HERE, with a special shout out to FatToo Grand Size 28+. The FatToo groups are not intended to make money for the creators of the group or the sellers, it is not a commercial venture. It is just a way to share clothing that is no longer working for the seller. There are rules, and I suggest you read them before you buy or sell anything.

I would love to hear from you if you have suggestions to add to my list.

I expect that there will be additions as I go along, so check back now and again and see if I have added anything.

Simply Be, YAY, U.S. Size 28 Plus Size Clothing – Lovin’ It

Did you know that SimplyBe carries U.S. Size 28?  I love that. A size 28 in fun clothes is difficult to find anywhere but look this Anna Scholz line, with this sexy dress, or a blouse in the same material, or a maxi skirt in a different tropical print, and with summer coming… These may be some “gotta have it” clothes.

Then there is my favorite biker jacker at the moment, in pink. Gotta love it.

I just bought a pencil skirt (which you will see shortly) from Simply Be in a U.S. Size 28 and it fit perfectly. To compare my measurements to yours, click HERE.

So take a chance, they have easy returns and I am loving their style and size range.

Review – Torrid Size 5x Skirt

I bought this skirt on a whim, it was on sale, it was hot pink. I got it home and then I did not wear it, AND THEN, I ironed it and wore it with a petticoat and a jacket and fell in love with it. Fun and easy to wear, oh yes, and way too late to return it. So in the spirit of “Shopping my Closet” I declare it a winner.

Ditto.Ditto.Ditto. Always Red Hot

Top Belt Boots

Top – Beth Ditto Evans Line (sold as a skirt) – Size U.K. 28 (2010) – EBAY
Belt – IGIGI      Leggings – SWAK        Necklace – Torrid
Boots – Avenue Size 9.5

This is a fat girl’s version of vintage. I know you know I love Beth Ditto, she is my fatshion hero, and she’s everywhere on my blog as you can see HERE! I bought this skirt (that I am wearing as a top) about a year ago on EBAY. There is almost always something from her Evans line, but it is a bubble skirt, and I just could not make it work for me. I wore Beth Ditto last Valentine’s Day, and decided I would just fool around until I found a look that I liked.

Avenue Wide Calf – Wide Width Knee High Boots – Review

I have wanted some knee high boots for years, San Francisco is a boot kind of town. But I would order them, and then I would have to send them back because they were not wide enough for my foot, or the calf would fit but they would be huge in the ankle… It was so bad that for awhile my husband and I had a deal that I would not order any more boots online, but I could buy whatever I wanted if I went to a store.  avenue tall boot 9.5 LGSo last week I found these lace-up, wide calf boots on sale at Avenue, and I just had to have them, and YAY they fit. They are still a little big in the ankle but I am thrilled. I have an 18.5 inch calf and as you can see from the photo, laced as tight as they will go there is a ton of extra room.  I am sure that if loosely laced they would fit a 22 inch calf, and these are a size 9.5. Just a note, these are not snow or rain boots. These are going to the movie or out to lunch boots. Not tough, but VERY fun. Peace…affinity photos: Leori Gill

Torrid Size 5X Faux Fur Leopard Coat Review

Coat: Torrid 5X Skirt: SWAK 5X (sold out) Leggings: SWAK One Size (my favs)

Coat: Torrid 5X (only in a 3x)          Cropped Leopard Cardi Size 12 – 32 (similar)
Skirt: SWAK 5X (sold out)
Leggings: SWAK One Size (my favs)

I fell in love with this coat the moment I saw it. BUT I did not need a faux fur Leopard Coat, I already had one, and it kind of matches my husband’s, as you can see below. AND, I live in California, where we are having the mildest winter on record (read that as drought). But then Torrid put it in sale at half price, and it is so “Old Hollywood” looking, I just had to have it anyway.  And I have been waiting all these weeks to wear it!  Finally last Saturday night we went to a party where we sat in the backyard with a fire and it was just chilly enough to wear, and everybody loved it, as did I.  It is a 5X, and unbuttoned, it overlaps a good six inches, so it is too big, BUT my other jacket does not close all the way, so I wanted to be sure I got a truly warm one for the beach or outside at night, and it is that.

To compare my measurements to yours, click HERE.

I teamed the jacket with my matching vintage leopard glasses just for a little extra fun. You could probably buy a modern version that is not quite so outrageous.

leopard coats MB affI thought you might like to see our other coats, just so you can see how much I did not need this one… LOL. These are costume coats, for mine I had a tailor cut some off the bottom and add it to the back, but it still does not close very well so not great on a cold night. And yes I thought I was buying a matching coat, but only realized after I had had it altered, that they did not match.

collage radiant orchidIf you have been following along you may remember that my favorite color, Radiant Orchid, is the Pantone Color of 2014.

I bought this sweater just before I discovered this fabulous news because this shade of purplish/redish is generally hard to find. But I hope that since radiant orchid is the color of the year I will see lots of amazing clothing in my favorite color. The 5X is just a little large on me. To compare my measurements to yours, click HERE.
