The theme for our blogging collective, Ahead of the Curve, for August is Pretty in Pink. So imagine my surprise when I went through my wardrobe and didn’t really have any pink. I think of myself as a pink and purple kind of girl. That left recreating one of Andi’s outfits from the movie Pretty in Pink, one of my favorite ever chick flicks. My usual dress is a little reminiscent of the 1980 anyway, you know, quirky! Here is my inspiration:
Yours Clothing Black Blazer: Size UK Size 30-32 US size 26-28 D.I.Y. Embellished Jacket
Ulla Popken White Shirt: Size 24
Footless Floral Leggings: Torrid Size 2
Boots: Avenue Size 9.5 wide
Hat: Seams to Fit Plus Size Consignment Store, Oakland CA
Scarf: Pashima, retirement gift

You look totally rad!!!
Man, I forgot all about floral pants from the 80s. I think I’m digging your modern version much more.
This is totally fantastic!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! So bang on!
Ooh, so the first thing (things, I guess I should say) that I focused in on was all your jacket bling! Are those all pins, badges? Now, that’s my kind of accessory! 🙂 You look great!
Hi Lis: The Jacket bling is mainly pendants from Burning Man. Gifts for making donations or being friends with the artists. I love them and there is no way to wear all of them. But they do make the jacket very heavy. Thanks for commenting.

I love this outfit so much. Could be because I’m an 80’s tragic myself, but I think it’s also because you’re rocking the you-know-what out of it!
I would say you definitely nailed it! Totally tubular, like, y’know? LOL
Tonya: Welcome. I was a Burning Man and missed your comments. Thanks so much for reading my blog, and commenting.
